God designed people for community. Each of us has a desire "to belong" somewhere. Seeking community is often what brings many of us to Vineyard Church. It will be the relationships that we build that keep us coming back to Vineyard Church.

At Vineyard Church, we understand that worship celebration on Saturday and Sunday is uplifting, a time to celebrate God, and an important part of our spiritual growth but it will not bring about life transformation.

It is in Small Groups where life transformation occurs. Even Jesus did not do it alone... What was one of the first things He did when He started His ministry? Start a small group!

Small Groups are where we do life together. We laugh, cry, learn from God's Word, we pray, love, support, encourage, watch movies and eat popcorn, have fun, worship, and share life together. Through Small Groups we develop meaningful and vital relationships with others as we try to become a living example of the "body of Christ."

How to get connected into a small group (spiritual family) at Vineyard Church:

1. Find a group near you that fits your schedule (Click here to find a group.)

2. Email or call that small group leader to find out more about the group and to get directions. Often small groups meet in different homes from week to week, so you definitely don't want to show up at the wrong place!

3. Know that no one small group is the best fit for every person. We encourage you to try out several different groups before you settle on one.

4. If you have would like help finding a small group or are interested in leading one, you can contact Roger Sodsod, small group pastor.

Here are some definitions to help you get connected:

smallgroupsSmall Groups
A small group is a group of 6-15 people who form the basic unit of Christian community. It functions to provide a place where members gather around the presence of Christ, support one another as a family, reach out in ministry and evangelism to the hurting world, and mentor and release new leaders. The ultimate goal of a small group is to multiply itself as the group grows through evangelistic outreach. Most of our small groups meet weekly outside the church facility in an effort to penetrate the world.

Common-Interest Groups
Groups where people gather around a common interest (e.g. Vineyard Motorcycle Riders, Vineyard Car Club, Vineyard Friends of Art, Riverbluff Rescue Ranch, etc.) The primary purpose of common-interest groups is evangelism. We have seen many nonchristians start attending church and then come to Christ because they first started attending one of these groups.

Classes
Short term groups designed to teach you a particular subject matter (e.g. Crown Financial, Beth Moore Bible Study, Celebration of Discipline, Alpha, etc.)

Ministries
The use of a person's gifts and talents, time and energy, in the service of the Kingdom of God (e.g. Meals Ministry, Children's Ministry, Youth Ministry, Intercessory Prayer Group, Hospital Visitors, etc.)
